The day began with me sleeping late once again. I remember hearing the hubbies alarm go off, looking at it (6:25) and saying "I thought it was going off at 6:45." Evidently, I went right back to sleep! Guess I needed the rest! I did wake up joyful, but it wasn't long and I was back into the cycle of praying for help and trying to remain joyful. Once we started schoolwork I turned on some praise music (Women of Faith CD) and then things began turning around. We took a break and went to the pet store so Maegann could buy her Betta fish and then we went to McD's for lunch. Once home we finished up our schoolwork and then it wasn't long before Tim was home for the day. I got things together and headed to the bank (needed to get in the safety box) and then to the gym. Ran a couple more errands once done there. I enjoyed having a couple hours all to myself and really needed that time at the gym. When I got home Tim had the stovetop torn apart (we have a very old Jenn Aire and had to get "new" switches and a set of burners for one side) so my plans for making Asian Beef went out the window quickly. (Ended up at Taco Time.)
Tomorrow.... I plan to volunteer at Bountiful Baskets and then need to pick up just a few things at the store. Have a hair trim at 1, but otherwise nothing else on the calendar. I do plan to get the program finished for presentation night so I can copy it on Monday while at co-op. I might actually get the class schedule typed into the spreadsheet for next year too. We'll see what the day brings!
5% Challenge - Team Daisy
Tomorrow is our final weigh-in for this challenge. I've already requested to be a Daisy again and the next challenge starts up in May so not too long to wait.
Gym Time Challenge: I slept in this morning, but I made it to the gym this afternoon and without any deadline to be home was able to spend an entire hour! Yeah!!!
Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He [a]takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving]. (2 Cor. 9:7)
Because human nature is self-centered, generous giving does not come naturally to us. We have to build into our thinking the mind-set that we are generous. Begin to think and say, "I am a very generous person. I look for opportunities to give."
I encourage you to begin listening to others and paying attention to what they say more than ever before. People want to know you're listening to them; they feel loved and valued when you listen to them. If you don't know what to do for someone, you're not listening to them because people tell you what they want, need, and like -- and you'll know if you listen.
Trust in Him. Think of three specific friends, neighbors, or coworkers you see regularly. Commit to listen intentionally the next time you're together, as you trust God to show you how to bless them.
