GOOD NEWS! Happy, happy me.
I am driving. Drove to a neighboring town for lunch today with friends. We had such a good visit.
Was going to get a perm today but thought it might be a bit too much right now.
Saw the doctor's assistant Thursday and he was more than pleased with my progress and the bend in my knee. I go back in two months.
Today the PT came and he was also pleased with my progress. He even had me walking in my condo w/o the walker, just hanging on to his arm. I will see him three times a week.
My other knee pains more than the operated one and I limp because of it. I have limped for years.
People are so good to me and have been such a help. I have a wonderful church family and people from two other churches have visited and one couple really has helped me a lot. Spark people have been so kind especially Marcy and Carolyn who updated you on my progress. Marcy cheered up my room with some real live flowers.
I was so surprised when the florist came into my room. Woo Hoo. Also the mail from a couple of sparkers.
Shame on me. I forgot to thank God and also the wonderful surgeon who did my knee. The scar is miminal.
Thanks to all for your prayers for me.

So glad to hear you're doing well. We are so blessed to be living in this time with all the modern medical miracles. And I really think joint replacements are miraculous. Keep up with your therapy, it really works!

    Yay Irene!
This update on how well you are doing is a wonderful way to start off my Sunday.
God is so good, this we know, and I am so thankful to hear how he has watched over you so well during this time of healing!
Surely your recovery will continue to go well, but I'll be keeping you in my prayers!
Off to Sunday School I go...

Have you given any thought to when you will get the other knee done? Just the thought of not having a limp in the future must be so encouraging!

When we have friends, flowers, people who show love and God, it sure helps it be better, than if we didn't have these great resources. I'm pleased to also hear that you also heard from your spark friends also. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Oh Irene I am so happy for you!! That's excellent!! I didn't fare as well, the replacement itself went well but there was a major complication. The quad tendon and patellar tendon peeled off the bone and had to be repaired. Since they have NEVER seen this before there is no protocol so I'm still either in bed with the CPM machine(I have the bend up to 75 degrees so far) or tightly buckled into a rigid brace that doesn't allow bend. No weight bearing, no walking. No nothing. I'm going stir crazy!! Hopefully he will let me start therapy on the 29th--SEVEN weeks after surgery.
I am SO PLEASED you are doing so well!! Do a walk for me, too, will you please?

Irene, so glad you are doing so well. I have a friend in exercise class that had both knees done at one time and his wife told us that if you did your exercises and followed dr's orders, it was amazing how well things could go. Jim's therapist had to fuss at him to slow down--don't overdo. I really appreciated the updates Marcy and Carolyn posted so that we would know you were doing good. emoticon emoticon emoticon
