DH let me sleep in this morning so I got a late start on the day. He said I must have needed the extra rest. I don't remember him getting up so I must have been really out!
We had a little shopping to do and then we were heading off to a movie. Just as we were getting to the theater DH said I didn't check to see which theatre the movie was playing at. I had to laugh because he had this all planned out before I came home from the coast. He headed to the theatre we always go to. We pulled into the lot and checked out the posters of the movies playing on the front of the building. The movie we wanted to see wasn't there! Back out on the road and to the other side of town we headed. The movie started at 12:05 and we pulled into the lot at straight up noon. All we missed were some previews. We saw 42 and I can not say enough good things about it. It was the best movie I have seen in a long time. I would encourage anyone to see it.
After we got home we ate a late lunch and then DH left to meet a friend to do some metal detecting and my exercise for the day was to mow the back yard. We have an acre and I push mow one section at a time. Since I have had injuries to both knees I put elastic braces on both knees and try not to do too much at one time. I do the same thing when I walk/hike. So far I am getting by ok with doing it that way and I am careful not to over do it.
The pictures I am sharing with you today are from a day my daughter, granddaughter Amy, grandson TJ (Bronco) and I went to Fort Warden State Park and hiked. We didn't forget the mushroom bags that day either.
There are lots of bunkers scattered around the old fort. It was an active military base during WWI and WWII to protect the west coast. We ran across a couple of deer that day. They are so used to people that they didn't pay much attention to us.
We got rained on early in the day and I debated whether to post this. Not the best picture of me! That is granddaughter Amy and grandson T.J., more commonly known as Bronco, with me.
We took one side trail that lead us to the edge of a bluff over looking the Strait of Jaun de Fuca. That is Whidbey Island in the distance in the one photo.
I hope you enjoy my pictures and I will try to post more tomorrow!
