Friday - quick update

Friday, April 19, 2013

Both the terrorists are caught - one dead after more bloodshed and more death in Massachusetts. News non-stop - still sifting through all the information.

Kudos to Massachusetts and Federal officers who balanced their focus on capturing and stopping the last terrorist as well as keeping Bostonians as safe as they can. How many cities would have locked down the entire city to keep their citizens safe - stopped all transportation - told people stay home and don't come to work.

A Normally hustling and bustling city was empty. Kudos! Kudos! Kudos! Your foresight probably saved more lives.

I spent literally five hours watching CNN yesterday - couldn't pull myself away from it! As a former journalist, it's amazing to watch how information comes to them at the speed of light these days. And to be witness, at least from a fly-on-the-wall's perspective, to the massive effort to bring things to a conclusion. The whole thing is amazing. And then later last night we watched an interview with the husband of a wife who had her legs amputated, and his daughter as well! And the tears just flowed. So utterly senseless. It will be good to have your community get back to 'normal' again. emoticon

What an amazing feat for the city of Boston as the whole country sat riveted to the TV. This terrorist act pulled us together as a country! Now, the grieving process sets in. I was thinking about that 19 yr old kid and how he was injured and bleeding and holed up in that boat. I'm sure the fear and pain he suffered was immense and I hope he comes to the realization that he was brain washed and sings to the police with all the info in his head.

Glad that is over for all Bostonians. I was surprised about the city lockdown and glad that the authorities would go that far. Everyone did GREAT!!

So glad for Boston, that their lockdown seems to be over. Congratulations to all the officials who took drastic steps to protect their citizens & to all the law enforcement personnel who did a great job of working together.
