WOW!! What a crazy week it has been. We left on the 9th and spent 5 days at Disney World relaxing and enjoying ourselves. We checked out of our hotel at Disney on the 14th and made the 9 hour drive to SC to go to a live WWE event. I had taken my laptop with me but hadn’t been on it much during the entire week we were gone. You can imagine my surprise when I booted up my computer Monday afternoon (hours before going to Monday Night Raw) and my FB feed was overflowing with “PRAY FOR BOSTON”.
I wasn’t quite sure what was going on but didn’t think much of it and started getting ready for RAW. We walked to the arena from our hotel and while we were standing in line waiting for the doors to open I texted one of my friends “Um, dumb question. I’ve not been online much this whole vacation but what happened in Boston?” When I read the text that she sent my jaw hit the floor.
Moments later the security team for the event came out and told us “No backpacks, no cameras, and we will be doing full body scans with the security wands.” It felt surreal in that moment as I watched each person in front me, the young and the old getting wanded from head to toe.
We had a great evening and enjoyed being 2 rows from the ring. I had a great time seeing my favorite wrestler, John Cena in person. He threw his shirt off our direction and had my fiancé been standing where I was, he would of caught it! The couple next to us caught it and gave it to the little boy sitting behind us. CENATION, gotta love them.
We headed back toward home Tuesday morning but not before stopping in SC and visiting friends. They’re little ones were adorable and loved the Disney stuff I brought them. We chatted for awhile, went to dinner, and chatted more after returning to their home. We stayed the night and around noon on Wednesday headed home.
We’ve been home a little over 24 hours and I finally decided to turn on CNN and get an update on everything that has been going on in this last week. Between what happened in Boston and what’s happened in West, Texas (a mere 3 hours from my hometown) I’m left wondering: What is this world coming to?
