Welcome back to our ongoing study, Practicing the Presence of God.
This lesson our Study will be taken to new heights where we will expand on areas of what it means to “Serve God”
This study will be divided in to a two part series where we will look at scripture and see how God has laid out the blue print for each of our lives to fulfill the call God has on our lives to “Serve Him”.
Isaiah 43:21 (English Standard Version) states: The people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.
Job 10:8 Your Hands shaped me and made me
According to the scripture above we have been hand made and shaped by God. We have been “shaped” to Serve God.
God has a plan and a purpose for each person He has hand made. We all have been given a blue print that will map out every fine detail of our lives in how we are going to serve our God.
Each one of us was made to serve God in a specific way. We all have roles to play. We are gifted and we are given a ministry that will serve God in a unique way. We are all unique individuals who have been fearfully and wonderfully made in the presence of God.
Psalm 139:13-14 (Amplified Bible)
For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother's womb.
I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.
Ephesians 2:10 We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which
God prepared in advance for us to do.
So here we see that Service is not optional for a child of God. We are told that we were created to do good works. It was God who molded and shaped us while we were in our Mothers womb. He has fashioned us to do good works. We are an Art of God’s own Handiwork. We have been individually hand crafted to serve God in a certain area and in a certain place.
Our theme verse is 1 Corinthians 3:5-6
1 Corinthians 3:5-6 (English Standard Version)
What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.
The scripture clearly paints a picture of how all of us are given a work to do. We have been chosen by God to serve Him in the areas He has called us to do. We are all individually gifted and all have talents that work together for God’s good.
1 Corinthians 12:6 (English Standard Version)
And there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
Remember we are shaped for “serving” God. I am a combination of many different factors.
After all I have been fashioned by the Master Craftsman. He has shaped my life in to a design that is pleasing and acceptable to Him.
Remember God works through different people in different ways, but He achieves His purposes through us all.
Something to Ponder: I was “Shaped” to Serve God. My Life has been “Designed” by God, the Chief Master Craftsman!
We have concluded Part 1 on what it means to Practice the Presence of God through Serving.
Our next Study, What it means to Practice the Presence of God through Serving will touch on the Gifts and Talents God has given us all to “Serve” Him. These gifts are not only for ourselves but they are to benefit others.
As we have discovered in this months lesson, God has “Fearfully” and “Wonderfully” created us for “Good Works”.
Something to Ponder: We have been shaped by the Master Craftsman to serve Him and fulfill His Will and Purpose He has planned for each one of us to do. God has equipped us with gifts that will be used to “Serve” Him and that will be a blessing to others
