The weekends are my weakness

Friday, April 19, 2013

I have come to realize that i am an over eater there I said it. I also realize that the weekends are hard with a capital H. Is it me or does everything taste better on your days off? I might sound ridiculous but think about it..all your great food "events" happen on typical days off. Still not believing me.. let's give some examples:

National Belt loosening Day; Thanksgiving
National Cheat day: Saturday of every week of every month of every year ...........(sigh) I miss those
I could go on but I'm starting to reminisce
Now back to the original post I hate the weekend I am married so that means "outings" it seems all other married couples love to hang out on the weekend and drink..and It never stops
Just stay at home you say..."NEVER"... something eventful might happen and I need to be there and also record it so that I can blog about it. Alas every week is the same struggle, I'm beating it just don't know for how long.

I am so with you on this one!!! I am sitting here at 5:15 in the morning getting ready to go jump on my elliptical DETERMINED that I am going to set the standard for my weekend! Last night we went out to eat at a BUFFET (of all places!!) but I managed to eat just baked chicken and a salad (but TRUST ME I was foaming at the mouth!) Tonight we are going to a wedding and I have no idea what is on the menu so I just plan on eating my meal here at home before we leave.
I am so tired of the guilt I feel come Monday morning for undoing all my hard work all week long. So instead of my life being a "food celebration" I want to switch gears and it be a celebration about the foods I DIDN'T eat.
Another thing I did to help me stay on track and hold myself more accountable was make my weigh in day Monday morning so I KNEW I had to behave as best I could over the weekend. This made a HUGE difference - maybe it might work to help you out too.
Good luck Gianni - you CAN DO IT! If we can just get it in our minds that just because we have the day off work and NOT OFF OUR DIETS we can make it to Monday without failing!!!

Weekends are the worst but after many years of starting over every monday I think I have finally learned. If we are going to go out to dinner or eat something that screws with my plan Friday night is the night we either go out to dinner, have dessert or eat something not quite wholesome. Then saturday morning I start back eating the healthy foods I normally do. Now I still track Friday evenings meal and try to stay within my limits and usually I do but that's how I finally realized I could do it without wrecking my whole weekend. I also try to do a workout Sat or Sunday morning. I wish you luck.
