Snow, sickness, and last day of 5% challenge

Friday, April 19, 2013

It is snowing here again today! Can you believe it?! April 19 and we just got another 3 or so inches. Unbelievable. At this rate, the garden will never happen. But now now... have hope. Summer has to come, doesn't it???

Well, I think I might hit my 5% challenge goal... but unfortunately not the way I wanted to. Yesterday I was sick with a stomach bug--quite literally could only handle 1 piece of toast and a handful of Gatorade ice cubes all day. I didn't get to log in at all. Biggest bummer was that I was in a mini challenge where you had to log in each day by midnight with fitness minutes, even if it was 0. Missing once was cause for elimination. Well, 2 days left of the 8 week challenge, and I was eliminated. Such a bummer! Oh well... so it is. I can be thankful that the stomach bug only gave me 1 day of feeling yucky and 1 day of pure misery.

I am SO thankful for all the good I have gotten out of this 8 week challenge. I have met some great new SparkFriends, found my workout groove, and stayed on task. Each day was a new day, with new challenges (like running a 10k in 30 degree weather???), and more to learn about myself. I really enjoyed the camaraderie of the Teddybears.

So, here's to spring actually coming, a happy last day of the challenge, and health! Have a great weekend!

today was a nice sunny day. too bad I have to switch to the night shift. I did get a few hours in the green house and 90 minutes at the pool this morning so that is a good thing.
Have you gotten your plants started yet?
I hope your weekend if great!

Must admit, I'm glad I left the snowy northland for one more month in SW Florida. This has been the whitest April I've ever seen. I loved visiting the water falls with the snow, ice, and running water: absolutely gorgeous! I've already seen green grass in parts of Minnesota, so hopefully, Spring is about to burst through.

Dolphinsinger72--It was a mini challenge within the team. So the "Battle of the Bears" workout challenge to keep us motivated, encourage us to log in daily and exercise daily, so not the main 5% challenge. Don't worry--I'm looking good in that respect. :-)

I am so glad I'm feeling better today... but I can tell I'm way behind in water! Slowly adding it back to not be waterlogged or tummy-slogged. It's terrible to go from 9-10 cups daily to 1 day of 4 cups and then 1 day of 1 cup! Wow, what a difference... and so fast.

Hun, are you in a different challenge than I? I don't think you were eliminated for not recording fitness minutes EVERY DAY. Because I think I missed one day and I was not eliminated. If you missed two WEIGH INs then you were eliminated. That would be a little hard core to eliminate someone for not logging their fitness minutes every single day. I know in my team we just have to log by the END of the WEEK by midnight our time. I don't think you were disqualified unless you are in a different challenge. :) Just so you know.

I hope you are feeling MUCH better very soon and yes, I really learned a lot with this challenge.

The strawberries on your page look delicious!

So Sorry you were so sick....hard way to loose the last pound needed to meet your challenge. Gentle hugs and come back gently...Good old BRAT diet ...banana, rice, applesauce and toast....
Going to be watching around corners for different teddy bears after this challenge too. Hugs and God bless you in health and happiness

You may have been eliminated but you won anyway because you established some new habits. emoticon
