Natural pain control

I started my journey with Spark people early in October of 2012. The main reason I signed on was to first off lose a few pounds, those stubborn few pounds that had been creeping up on me since my osteo arthritis really took hold at the age of 54. Also I was looking for ways to control my pain and slow the progression of other arthritic areas of my body. My wrists are getting pretty bad now and Iíd sure like to slow that down!!

Little did I know that Spark people would become much more than just a weight loss tool. This was my first experience with truly getting serious about losing weight and keeping it off as I was one of those lucky people who never really struggled with weight. Sure I lost 5 pounds here, 5 there, but nothing major.

Imagine my surprise when at the age of 54 a physiotherapist told me to get an x ray of my hip as he said it was beyond repair.. my hip, arthritic??? I came to see you about my back, even my Dr. never once guessed my hip was arthritic.. so at the age of 55 I had my right hip replaced and havenít looked back. Itís amazing, but unfortunately I still have fibromyalgia and itís proving to be more difficult to control, even losing weight hasnít helped with the fatigue and brain fog days that still plague me.

I decided that I was tired of medications that had horrid side effects and continue on my search for natural pain relief and honestly I do think the few things I am trying are helping. Thanks to spark friends for helping me by offering suggestions on what works for them etc., and of course the power of the internet for searching out information is amazing.
So far Iíve been able to get down to ľ dose of my amitripyline, Ĺ the doseage of lyrica, ĺ of the doseage of cipralex and right off the celebrex.

Iíd say Spark is working very well for me and is teaching me how important lifestyle changes are on the road to better health. The community and friends support goes along way in helping and not a day goes by that I donít think about logging in to Spark and tracking my food, tracking my fitness, tracking my weight and catching up with all my new found friends..

THANKYOU all I donít think Iíd be as well now had I not found Spark! I still can't believe I had the urge to jog yesterday and tried it and feel good about doing it! I think I'll give it a go again in a couple of days.. Bessy my Border Collie will be doing backflips.. she loves to run!

cheers,
