I normally have a protein shake with milk as a snack after dinner but last night I had a couple 100 calorie granola bars instead. This morning, my stomach didn't feel stuffed like it normally does in the morning, so it was easier to tighten my abs while I was exercising, which improved my form. I also didn't get winded as easily, and I noticed my heart rate stayed lower than usual.
I don't know the science of it or anything, but I kind of wonder if I've had some sort of protein sludge in my system slowing down my morning exercise? My protein was on the high end of SP's recommended range, so I don't think I was eating a dangerous amount, but it's probably more than I needed. Now I'm closer to the middle of the recommended range and the granola increases my daily carbs a little, which were near the bottom of the recommended range. I'm going to try this a while and see how it goes.
I'm hoping this might be a change that gets the scale moving again. It's not that I'm really concerned much with the scale right now, since I'm pretty happen with my fitness. The thing is, I'm between pant sizes so nothing fits quite right at the moment. My current size is too baggy but the next size down isn't loose enough to be comfortable for a whole work day. So I'm stuck in loose clothes for a while but I'm not complaining because it's a nice problem to have.
