Don't throw in the towel!

Thursday, April 18, 2013

OK, so you're having a set back. You wouldn't throw in the towel if it was some other kind of set back:

If you're driving, and you get lost, would you turn off the car, and just stay there? No, you would look at a map, and get back on course.

If you were going down stairs & stumbled down a few stairs, would you figure all is lost, you might as well throw yourself down the rest of the flight? No, you would catch your breath, & go down carefully holding the railing.

How about if you were carrying a glass of milk, and spilled a new drops? Would you say, Oh well, might as well spill the rest on the floor? No! You would get a towel and clean it up, and forget it and go about your way.

So don't throw in the towel!

SP is your road map, your railing, your towel. If you follow it, you really will lose weight.

good examples... when it comes to food and car I think it's realizing you are heading for Mexico when you want to go to Canada and ending up in Mexico anyway. I tend to just stay on instead of making the effort to go A-L-L the way to Canada -

Its a big deal to hurry up and set the boundary of weigh in and new week's efforts.

emoticon this is the new week. New efforts start now. Fight the feeling to make that 1/2 pound (which might be gone in 36 hours anyway) a real weight gain.

OMG Your dog scared me at the end. I jumped lol I think these set of analogies are really important. And really I've been thinking about this for myself recently. This is truly a simple concept. There is food out there. If you constantly are putting it into your mouth it's going to show on your body. Logically it's the simplest concept out there, but gets complicated when actually walking it out because of roadblocks/stumbling. Self reflection and correction through action is sooo important to accomplishing anything, especially weight loss.
