Photos from my IPhone-- easy but HARD

Thursday, April 18, 2013

Not my photo! I wish!

I wanted a photo of tropical fish for a sparkpeople fish related team. Sure I can do that. Maybe....

I remembered emoticon to take the smartphone to the doctor's office at the appointment time.

I watched the 2 clown fish interact near the big anemone. Just beautiful!

I took about 4 photos because the fish would not stay still!

The secretary came over and showed me some other creatures in the tank. She started to take a photo of a coral banded shrimp. But I had the iphone set on video! I had no idea I did that. I did not have my glasses and guessed sometimes. emoticon I thought the 2 icons on the phone meant enlarge and decrease (sorry zoom). But the icons meant video and a still photo. emoticon

OK at home --now what . How do I get the photos into my computer so I can send them to sparkpeople?????? emoticon

I did a search on how to move photos from an iphone into the computer. Voila! I followed directions of how to email the photos to my gmail.

Who knew! I am finding a whole new world! You that are iphone suave are laughing I just know it!

But the "photo" is really a video. NOW WHAT??????????? emoticon

I did another internet search. EVERYTHING is on the internet! I found the directions. It said to take a screen shot while the video played. Easier said than done because the fish swim so fast! After several tries I did it. emoticon

Man, this isn't as easy as it sounds! I am exhausted. And the fish in the photo is blurry.

I need to go back to the doctor's and start over . No video this time.

emoticon I can't show you yet. I removed the blurry photo.

State of Denial has the right method. It's relatively simple if the video itself is not blurred. Good Luck with it!

I have had my iPhone for over two years and I still have a hard time taking pictures with it. Do not get discouraged if it is your first time.

You need an 8 yr old-I got my grandkids to show me what to do. I was so frustrated after the 1st day with the I-phone I was ready to take it back, but with their help I at least have the basics!!!
My best advice, find a kid, they can do it without batting an eye!!!!
Happy Thursday.

As you're watching the video, hit pause. Then you can scroll the progress bar to find a good image. Once you have a good image on your screen, then you do a screen print, paste into an image editing program, crop it, and save it.
