4 month update

Thursday, April 18, 2013

So, on 12/11/12 I got my RNY. In the first 3 weeks I lost 20 pounds and I was so excited. Then for the next 2 months I lost like 5 pounds. I was so discouraged. I was even regretting my descision. Today I weighed in at 244. That is a 54 pounds in 4 months. I am still dissapointed by that number but I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that I am going to be a slow loser. In many ways I have been told that this is better because I might not have as much excess skin. I am just so scared that I will never reach goal.

    You are doing GREAT!!

I also dropped kinda fast at the beginning and tapered off to a sloooooow loss. Sometimes only 1 lb in 2 wks! But I noticed that my body 'rearranged' itself. Altho the scale didn't move, I went down in jeans sizes.

Also because I'm such a slow loser, I don't have much loose skin. I've seemed to have lost all over my body which is how I put on the fat.

    No worries!!

54 pounds is amazing!! Don't get discouraged! Everyone loses weight at a different rate. Yes, the slower the better - you are 100% right about the loose skin.

    you are doing awesome!!

I think that 54 pounds in 4 months is just emoticon . I have lost 101 pounds in 3 years. So to have 54 pounds gone in 4 months seems incredible!!! If you want to measure your progress get 2 twenty five pound weights and carry them around, try running, and stairs and lunges and squats. emoticon

I have been a slow loser from 3 months on and it is hard but I figure I did not gain it in a few months and I am not going to lose it in a few months and I do have to say for myself I do not have much lose skin right now and I have lost a total of 86 lbs and the skin is not bad at all

emoticon 54 lbs in 4 months, that's great. That's impressive. Slow and steady wins the race. I'm lucky to lose .5 and 1 lb per week, so I can relate.
