Who Let the Dogs Out...

Thursday, April 18, 2013

The weather is just right for a good walk. I usually walk by myself. Just so happens a friend of my mine wanted to walk too.

We were walking through the park for about 15 minutes. We both looked up ahead and their were 2 rottweiler dogs coming across the street into the park. No leash, no nothing. We PANIC.....and as soon as we got to the car we left.

That was the first time that something like that has happen.

They say save the (PETS) animals....those need to be killed on sight or they will kill you.

Now, I don't know what to do....I really enjoy my outdoor walking.

Any suggestions?

I just read this April Blog--- I walk daily with my neighbor and one time two unleashed pit bull dogs came raging towards us, ready to attack. We were both terrified !! With luck, a neighbor in a car pulled over and rescued us...... It was such a frightening experience.---- Since then, on several occasions, there have been loose dogs. I am fearful of them and now carry a heavy "fireplace tool" that would deliver a severe blow. When I read about dogs mauling and killing people-- I wonder why anyone wants to keep a vicious dog as a pet.

Wow...I have a Rottweiler who is the most gentle creature and a Pit Bull who is a cuddly, lap dog. However, I do understand how they could scare you, especially when two are together. The reputation they have gotten has labeled all of them to be "killers". So I am especially careful to keep my dogs safe by always having them on a lease.

I feel any owner should be responsible and respectful of others. Not everyone likes dogs--I have found that out and crate my two when some people come to visit.

happens to me often, the owners are always there, but no leash, and it makes me very nervous, I am not afraid of dogs, just cautious, so I usually cross the street, or change directions. not fair

any kind of dog without a lease and owner should be reported because it could be dangerous glad you are all right. my granpa always carried a big stick. i didn't think i need one as i bring my dog but one day a bull mastiff came charging out of the yeard and bit my dog then when i tried to kick the darn thing a teenage girl pushed me and the owner never even came to get it. the owner was right there she never called her dog told him to stop or anything i called the dog warden .my dog runs away every time she sees a new dog now. i blame the owner never let your dog roam alone no matter how well behaved.glad you are okay.

I agree, it needs to be reported to animal control along with the time. Maybe they can patrol that park. This is not a dog problem; it's an owner problem. But none the less scary.

Did you call Metro Animal Control? Rottweilers are some scary dogs. Maybe find a different route to walk. Good luck
