Spring in New England

Thursday, April 18, 2013

I hung my humming bird feeders today, that is always such a good feeling.
I will wait a few days to start putting out oranges for the orioles, they always let me know when they are here by coming to my windows and yelling at me. I do spoil them
but we are rewarded by them making a nest in my pear tree every year.
Thank you to everybody who left kind words about my daughter at college in Boston.
One thing to come out of this tragedy is it is not a bad time to be journalist student in Boston these past few days. Yesterday she sent me a photo of her with Anderson Cooper. She said he smelled wonderful. I just love him. I gave up watching the news about 18 months ago and it has been such a good thing for my state of mind. Not a good thing when your daughter is studying to be a journalist though :(

Your cat reminds me of my "grandson" named Sylvester but nicknamed Sylly. It sounds like you're having better weather than we are here in Michigan. We woke up to a dusting of snow. My daughters are away from me, too, so I know what it's like to worry and wonder what they are up to.

Glad you see the positive's in the sad and horrific situation. I am sure the 3 in heaven are looking down and making sweet wishes for the survivors. Glad your journalist daughter is getting such great opportunities. She will experience a historical and educational event in one of America's largest cities. My brother ran that day and finished 40 minutes before the blast. He was greatly sad for the families of the lost victims but also upset with the lack of festivities that usually happen after the race. Life does go on and we just celebrate being alive. emoticon emoticon emoticon

How funny! MY son is in the Journalism School at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

My children and husband are far more current than I am. It really drags me down when I am on top of the news. I unplug often...I'd like a balance someday.

Enjoy your spring! We are having lots of rain and storms..I like the sound though!
