Back on the bike

This week has just flown right by me. I can't believe tomorrow is already Thursday. My California trip is coming up quick. Today I chatted with my friend about eating arrangements. I sent her a copy of the meal plan I've been following and asked her if she could pick up some groceries for me while I'm there so I can stick to it. She loved the idea, so I'm hoping that will be easy.
I've been fitting in some bike rides this week between the rain. Yesterday I rode 18 miles after work because it was raining in the morning. Today I rode to work and got home just as it was starting to rain. It was so sunny and nice out earlier, but it's just pouring out there right now. It would be phenomenal if it could clear up for tomorrow so I could ride my bike to work and then run outside. I ran outside yesterday too and I absolutely loved it. It's so much better than the treadmill at the gym. But I'm grateful for that treadmill, becuase I would not want to run out there tonight. Luckily, it was a strength training day for me today.
There was a guy at the gym who was working out near me. It made me nervous, because he was standing behind me and I felt like I was in his way. But I always feel like I'm in someone's way when I'm working with the weights. And someone is almost always in my way. It's just something I've learned to accept. Anyway, I was having a hard time avoiding looking at him because he was pretty good looking, and he was right there. So when I was done with the weights, I went into the Abs and Stretching area to do my stretches and a few mat exercises, and we must have been on the same schedule, because he appeared in that room shortly after I went in there. I'm sure that's all it was. We happened to finish around the same time. But I considered striking up a conversation with him, saying something like "It looks like you know what you're doing. Got any tips?"
Ha! I guess stuff like that shouldn't seem so far-fetched to me. I should be chatting people up. It's just so harrrrrrd.
Okay. I'm going to hit the sack and read a little of that book that I'm not enjoying at all. I should be asleep in 10 minutes.
