Another successful day brought on by the right planning!
As I was running out the door, a little while after having my snack, I thought"I should take an apple with me".
After all, it's only an apple, and it's good for you.
But then I caught myself because it was not on my planned eating.
And really, I was not hungry. It's a habit. I take food with me in the car to eat.
It's not that it was not good food, or a lot of food, it's just that I did not want to eat it for the right reasons.
It goes for apples as it goes for junk food.
Hopefully I will change those bad habits.
Last night, I had a meeting that I knew was going to have cake.
And it's really,really good cake.
Before going, I acknowledged that I was going to want some, and then I spotted the bananas in my fruit bowl.
Really,really good bananas.
Now bananas are good for you, but, like the apple, I usually take one with me to eat because very ripe bananas are like candy to me.
I could eat 5 in a row.
But I try to eat them in moderation because they're high in carb and sugar.
But last night, I made a deal with myself-no cake and when I got home, i'd eat a banana.
I know every expert says not to reward yourself with food.
But, meh. I did not care, and that's what I did.
So as I was eating my delicious, ripe, sweet and awesome banana when I got home, I realized that cake has much more sugar and carbs than a banana has and that I had made a great choice to wait to eat.
The best part, I was not the only one avoiding the cake, so it was not so bad.
But I had made the decision before going, so it made it easier to avoid.
Not that i'll avoid cake forever, but eating cake at night on an empty stomach is not good for my hypoglecemia.
So, hope you're all having a great day.
