Walking through Hobbiton

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

It was a beautiful sunny day AND we had free time to enjoy it. I went on a nice walk with both of my sons. I have two kiddos still living at home, one 20 year old son and my youngest who is 17. My youngest doesn't usually join us when we walk so it was especially nice that he came along

We walked about 4 miles. That brings our total to nine. On our way to Mordor we haven't even left the shire yet! our first main goal is: BAG END TO RIVENDELL (458 miles). Frodo and company walked 18 miles on the first day, so we are only half way through their first day of the journey. But as my son pointed out we don't have Nazgul on our tails. That has got to be a motivator to keep going and pick up the pace!

I had heard of someone else doing the walk to Mordor too and thought it cool, then forgot it! I think this would be an awesome motivator for walking. Thanks for sharing. Cool that your sons went too!
