Yes, I ran today. Despite my blisters. Not very long, but I ignored the blisters as best I could, and got in 1.7 miles in 18 minutes on the treadmill at the gym. It wasn't the running that hurt, it was the warm up and cool down walks that hurt. I guess it is a different foot strike for running as opposed to walking. That said, I plan to go run again tomorrow. For today, since my run was so short I decided to put in the same amount of time on the elliptical before doing a little ST. I crank up the resistance on the elliptical and keep the speed up as well, so even though my SP tracker says I only burned 148 calories the machine said I burned over 200 calories. I think the machine was more accurate this time. I didn't have my heart rate monitor on so I can't say for certain.
Cooper got a long walk this morning, plus the short walk to and from the groomer's. And I will take him out for an hour this evening. He was so happy to go to the groomer's. He is a white dog once again. Who knew? They said he was pretty dirty. I guess it is from all that rolling in the grass he has been doing since the snow melted. He also got his nails trimmed, though they said his weren't bad since I walk him a lot.
I was bad with food today. Subway for lunch, and McDonald's for dinner. I probably won't go over for the day, but the fat and sodium? oh my! I will make certain I eat at home for all my meals tomorrow. I hadn't had a meal from McDonald's in about a year. I have to say it tasted way too salty, and my stomach isn't real happy with me now. My memory of their food was better than reality.
