Should I Knock First?

I feel like I should be wearing one of those peel-off name tags that say...HELLO, MY NAME IS...It has been almost 3 weeks since I have been on SparkPeople to check in. I have not tracked, blogged & have not been drinking the 8-10 glasses of water each day. I don't feel like a failure...I didn't FALL off the wagon but at times, I feel like I JUMPED off the wagon, but I feel like I am only holding on with ONE hand, as I run along NEXT to the wagon...OK, who am I kidding...I'm not running...just walking...The last time I checked in was March 22nd...I was still having some trouble with my knee (fell on the ice back in Feb.) I had an MRI & it was totally negative (Thank You, Lord) no torn ligaments, ACL, MCL or meniscus...I have some arthritis in both of my knees & the fall just activated everything...I have slowly been getting back to my walking routine...slow & steady...My dear husband bought a recumbent bike for my Birthday & I best start using it religiously. It is less trauma than pounding the pavement, but I just get nervous & don't want to do anything to re-injure my knee...As some of you may have read my daughter Jan-Marie's SP blog, she got engaged on Fri. & ran her 1st half-marathon on Sun. It was a great weekend for all of us. So happy that we were able to be there for both. Looking at the pictures, I certainly could SEE the 11 lbs. that I have gained since Aug. Now that we have a wedding down the road, maybe that will help to keep me motivated & focused...It is such a battle but one that I refuse to stop fighting. Once AGAIN...my goals this week will be to drink (water), exercise & BLOG...that really keeps me on the straight & narrow. I certainly hope that all of you have not given up on me & I so appreciate your supportive comments. Take care...I will talktoyouSOON...

    I'm glad you are getting back to checking in! That bike sounds like a great way to get some movement in, even with a body that doesn't want to cooperate.

    Welcome back, never fell you feel off the wagon. think of it as a pause in your routine. For your knees might have your Dt. recommend some physical therapy. It may help with your pain and get your knees back half way in shape. I have had surgery to both my knees and it does help me when I start to have problems.

    Most of us have taken that "walk next to the wagon"...just hop back on we are all here for you. And you never need to use that name tag. We know who you are. Great news about your daughters engagement.....and such motivation to get healthier for that wedding. YOU can do this. emoticon

    You don't have to knock or wear the name tag as we are all friends with a common goal and that is to live a healthy life. When we don't do this, we are cheating ourselves. Simple as that.

    Well good to see you are back on the path & the wagon & moving in the right direction. I can relate to the knee injury... been nursing my knee for a few years now. The bike is a great option for exercise! Hope you get on it and check it out!!! We CAN do this!!! emoticon
