I posted this over at one of the Atkins teams, but it's not all out of my system, yet. So I'll say it again:

Woke up yesterday AM and I was up 9 lbs. NINE! In a day!
Ok. I know, I didn't gain nine lbs of fat, and certainly not muscle. I didn't change my salt intake. Everything I ate was right in line with what I've been eating.... very low carbs. I don't really worry about calories, but they were right in line, anyway.
I'm back down four today (I've been drinking lots of EXTRA water, on the theory that when you're bloated you need to flush the system). But that still leaves me up 5 from where I was two days ago.
What do you think? Should I just hang in there doing what's been working so far? I can't imagine what kinds of changes would make any sense. Should I update my ticker with this disgusting development?

    I just started reading the book The Paleo Coach which explains in detail why the scales are meaningless, just too unreliable to predict health nor giving a reflection of beauty. Maybe the scales misfunctioned, too.

    Where do you live? I am in the South, and the 80 degree weather is causing me to retain water like crazy!

If you are in the Midwest where it is still chilly, then please disregard. ;)

    Stick with what works! Some Atkins resources suggest a "fat fast" if you are truly plateaued, so that might be something you can look at in a week if you feel like things aren't going well still, maybe? Hang in there!!

    Yeah, what she said. If the weight is still there after 7 days then adjust it.

I used to add a minimum of 4 pounds of water weight over 3 days back when I weighed 142. Then in less than a day it was gone again. Damg hormones.

    I would keep doing what I've been doing and not weigh for a week! Leave the ticker in place :)
