100 Days of Real Food

This is my 3rd week of changing my focus from losing weight to embracing a healthier lifestyle. I've cut refined sugar, flour, rice and pasta from my diet; however, I've still eaten corn tortilla chips, and I had some french fries yesterday at Jack Stack BBQ. Remember, I'm taking baby steps towards better health! emoticon And, I'm pretty sure I'll never earn the title of 'perfect health nut'. emoticon

Nevertheless, today I was inspired by a 100 Day Challenge that I'm thinking of doing. Here are their guidelines for 'real food'.

These, by far, are my healthier dessert of choice! REALLY satisfies my chocolate and sweet fix without refined sugar or chemicals.

We're having supper at a KC Mexican restaurant tonight. This is MORE challenging for me! emoticon



We are planning to head North on Monday--CAN'T believe it's been almost 3 weeks since we left. Such a WONDERFUL visit with my parents and siblings and nieces and nephews.

    Curious about the Larabars - I checked the recipe, but it didn't say how many it made or the nutritional data. If the 1 cup walnuts and 1 1/3 cup dates only makes three bars as shown in the photo, that'd be a whallop of calories for each. They do look yummy, tho:)

    I think we tend to eat so much junk food we dont always understand how "artificial" the stuff we eat is.
i tend to eat a lot of fresh raw foods in the summer and fall when it is local. i may have to take a crack at a challange of eating only rral food for so many days this summer to see how that makes me feel.

I'm currently working with a Health Coach. I'm Gluten-Grain-Dairy-Sugar-Caffiene FREE. Just starting to add whole foods back in to my diet one at a time. Trying to identify migraine triggers and inflammation causing foods. I feel terrific now & no migraines!

Hope you're feeling as great as I am...all from eating healthy! Who Knew?!
