It's been a tough week

I have not overeaten, but I haven't been working out. I walked only 15 minutes on Monday and then did a 12 minute Cardio Blast this morning. I'm planning to walk at lunchtime for 30 minutes.

I am aways thinking of ways to get it in - and have to really work to get working out into my life. Yesterday, doing the laundry and getting the house looking less disgusting - took priority. I feel that now people have clean clothes and the kichen is presentable and I won't feel guilty about that.

Sometimes I have to choose to take care of the family before me - I am still working to get workouts in regularly. It's in the front of my brain every day - which is a huge step forward ffrom where I was just 2 months ago.

    Current research says that what we eat has a much bigger effect on our weight than exercise does. That's not to say we shouldn't exercise.... there are several zillion good reasons for getting your heart rate up and strengthening the muscles you don't use in your everyday activities. The best you can do, though, is the best you can do. You're getting in all the cardio you can manage, and you're getting the work done that needs to be done. Throw in a few stretches, maybe a few squats, wall pushups... just a couple here and there...
Get back to the workout you really want to do as soon as you can. I'll bet your weight loss graph won't even show a blip. betcha. emoticon

    Go JGIRL! My thoughts exactly! I would add one little thought, a la FlyLady. Make sure to start each day at home by putting on lace-up shoes. As she says, "shoes tell your brain it's time to get to work". I'm always amazed at how much more energetically I get things done around the house when I'm not barefoot or wearing slippers and pjs!

Crank up some tunes and dance through the dishwashing!

  As women sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. I applaud you for thinking of your family, but don't forget to give yourself equal time. A little dust never impacted lifespan ... not eating healthy and skipping exercise can and will. Be good to yourself!!

    I always thought the same thing when it came to house work over exercise... but what you need to realize is... doing laundry, housework is a huge exercise time and great work out...

It is good news your coming further than a few months ago! that is such a huge accomplishment emoticon

When you bend.. squat... when you carry your load up the stairs, add a gallon of water to the basket.. that extra weight is something else!

When you go up stairs, lunge... Do lunges when you vaccum or sweep.. when I clean my kitchen I never use cleaners, I use a steamer, vinegar, baking soda, lemons, and natural cleaners, and it gives you more elbow grease for scrubbing and washing..
I have my own cleaner of 1 cup of vinegar, 1 cup of generic or blue dawn dish soap and water... LOL
Stretch more and reach when you dust and wash.. kinda like the karate kid.. wax on.. wax off LOLOL... when I garden, that is extra squatting for me and extra burn time I can get for myself..

Don't think you have to "get away" just to have a great work out or time for yourself... really, its just the little things at home burn as much calories as being somewhere else like in the gym.. but its time for yourself that you need to keep insane lolol
