Great weigh-in

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

According to the scale, I lost 5.6 pounds in one week.
Of course, I know most of it is water weight but it gave a great start to my day none the less and it's pushing me to keep doing what I'm doing.

Third day of tracking my food today. I bought a digital food scale and it's a breeze to use it. I was never using my other scale because it was only in gram, not precise and hard to put to zero, you had to turn a thingy that was never turning like I wanted it to turn.
This morning, I putted my Tupperware on the scale, press the Zero button, added baby carrots up to 80 grams and cherry tomatoes up to 200 gr (so 120 gr of tomatoes if you are quick in math). It doesn't take me longer to know exactly the amount of this or that I'm getting in my lunch.
I'm not mesuring and weighing EVERYTHING, but that's a big improvement for me. I guess having the right tool makes all the difference.

Tonight I'm making fish with roasted cauliflower (i'll might make it au gratin, it will depend how many calories are left). And I can't wait for my lunch because I'm trying these portion sized quiches I made monday! Yummy in the tummy I hope!

I still need to work on my sleeping habits. Especially this week, I need to rest because I have my choir concerts this weekend and our repertoire is BIG (Mozart's Missa Brevis, Handel's Te Deum and Bach's Magnificat if you want to look it up). But so much is going on. I'm excited about the concert, I'm excited because I'm back on track so far, I'm excited because I will pay off the last dollars on my credit card next week and I'm SUPER excited because I probably found my very first car!!! I got my licence last december at the old age of 26 yo and now I'll get a car next week probably. I'm trying not to think about it and focus about this week only, one day at the time but OMG!

It's a 2008 Toyota Matrix, blue, stick shift (I'll have to learn how to use it but I'm sure I can do that!). Usually here, used Matrix are about 9000-12 000 $ CAN. I'm buying it from one of my collegues' father and he is selling it to me for... 4800$!!! Their is no trick or gimmick, he need to get rid of it fast and that's the price he would get if he sells it to a car dealer anyway. Withc the concerts, I told him I can't deal with all that's involve with the transaction (inspection, road test, going to the bank etc.) But it's so hard not to think about it!!!

So today, the sun shines, I'm happy, I'm smiling and I hope, really, that you are having a great day too. Smile, you'll see the world with different eyes

Yay, good job on your weigh-in! I love my digital kitchen scale too. Would you be willing to share your quiche recipe? That sounded delicious when you mentioned that the other day.
