Mom's perspective on me.
Wednesday, April 17, 2013
I went out with my mom (shopping and Geocaching!) yesterday. I got around to asking her how my personality has changed. She told me that I'm basically the same person I have been for the last several years. The one thing that has changed, and I think this happens to most everyone with age, is that I have calmed down and chilled out. I'm less likely to jump to conclusions and don't let things upset me too often.
My view on the way people act toward me is that if I don't let them bother me, then they can't. Some people try to be jerks, but my reaction is fleeting if I even get bothered by them at all. If someone simply doesn't use common courtesy, that doesn't bother me, it's less common that it used to be. If someone is trying to be a total jerk and is super angry at the world, I may just back off and leave them alone, as should everyone else in the vicinity, their anger is not worth my time unless it is going to hurt someone else.
If only everyone would chill out at the world, become more understanding with others, even those who don't share the same perspective, and just stop being angry, than the world would be a more peaceful place. We don't have to all have the exact same view to be courteous to each other.
Today's Holidays: National Haiku Poetry Day, National Bookmobile Day, and Daffy Duck's Birthday! I bet that if Daffy Duck wrote a Haiku it would go like this:
Five syllables here
Seven more syllables there
Are you happy now?
