63 days Of INSANITY! and I'm DONE!! YAY!!! some ramblings too...

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

So, i have done all 63 days of insanity, the "hardest program ever put on dvd" they say.....They weren't joking....
Here's a few before pictures...

So, that's what i use to look like...Since 2011 i have tried to stay health and exercise...i did very well that first year and lost 50lbs in 7-8 months, but then some emotional stuff happened and i began to go back to old ways.Slowly i gained some of that weightloss back...I know i was 233lbs or so by last year oct or so....Then in 2012 i decided to restart...i also got a lunch time supervising job at our elementary school....well that worked and it didn't...
By september i had 2 jobs(after school co-ordinator and only worker, plus the lunch time one AND running my home, looking after my kids, and keeping hubby happy...

That brings us to this year. One day my husband was home sick and he stays on the couch all day while he is sick...he was watching tv and saw an infomercial for Insanity. He wanted to get it and try it.So, i went on youtube and checked it out.I actually did the first 3 days on youtube and then found someone selling it, and i bought it from them.($80 instead of $120+ at our walmart).
So we decided to start.I worked out in the mornings and he did his after work.

I can honestly say that those first few days i began to think that i was insane for thinking i could do this at all let alone for 63 days..IT HURT!! Month 1 had so many floor exercises like planks and push ups, that my shoulders burned and hurt daily.Several times my arms would give out before i could finish the workouts...I physically could not do one more!

But by the time i finished week 1 i was lasting longer for planks, or doing more push ups...
I saw improvement when i did my fit test at 2 weeks in...

day test...whew!

move day1 day 2

switch kicks 63 /65
power jacks 30/ 44
power knees 47/ 69
power jumps 26 /35
globe jumps 6 /10
suicide jumps 13/ 13(i'm doubting first number slightly)
push-up jacks 14/ 18
low plank oblique 40/ 45(counting both legs)

So, i was improving and actually starting to feel that i could do this....43 days to go...

I continued...and here are the measurements from march 18,2013

March 18,2013

Weight 224 lbs
Hips. 48.5 inches
Waist. 41 inches
Thigh. 28.5 inches
Arm. 15.5 inches
Chest. 43 inches

compare them:

Tuesday, February 05, 2013

Weight 229 lbs
Hips. 49 inches
Waist. 42 inches
Thigh. 28.5 inches
Arm. 16 inches
Chest. 43 inches

So, that is differences of:
Weight 5 lbs
Hips 0.5 inches
Waist 1 inches
Thigh 0 inches
Arm 0.5 inches
Chest 0 inches

So, 5 lbs and 2 inches in a month...not too bad...and although I'm not taking any supplements or eating by their meal plan...i do have a 1300-1500 calorie day, which is close to their plan....also, i eat healthy as i can with few processed foods..i'm trying to stick close to "real" food, not boxed or packaged stuff...

Now i have hit the end of the program and month 2.oh, boy...i thought month 1 was hard! month 2 hurt too...i pushed and missed a few days but kept at it..Easter came(that's when i missed days), and hubby stopped...After easter i was right back to it, but hubby did 2 days more and found it too hard..He stopped completely...leaving me to finish the last week and 1/2 alone...I was disappointed but i wasn't stopping...this close and i could taste it!

So, yesterday was my last day...and a fit test..i pushed very hard...

Move----Day 1/day 2/day 3/day 4 /day 5
Switch kicks 63/65/65/66/69 (both legs)
Power jacks 30/44/46/49/52
Power knees 47/69/73/80/88
Power jumps 26/35/36/40/47
Globe jumps 6/10/11/11.5/12
Suicide jumps 13/13/14/14/15
Push-up jacks 14/18/19/20/21
Low plank oblique 40/45/52/55/63 (count both legs)

So, in 63 days, the measurement differences....
Weight 7 lbs
Hips. 2.5 inches
Waist. 3.5inches
Thigh. 0.5 inches
Arm. 1.25 inches
Chest. 3 inches

That's a total of 10.5 inches! Yay!and although i only lost 7 lbs or so, my beachbody coach (Abby), says that i could be trading muscles for fat and that could and probably accounts for why i'm not losing more yet still seeing alot of inches lost...

And honestly i don't care that i only lost 7 lbs..It's the tummy changes that i like the most...the confidence i feel knowing that i accomplished this and YES, i do plan to do it again....
They are before and after comparisons...

and LOOK! muscles!

SO, that was my first journey with insanity...Yes, i'm repeating it...i'll post a blog covering it again in another 63 or so days(starting monday and doing recovery week this week)...
Am I insane? come monday, i'll be doing this again and hubby promises to restart too...we will see...

If you are gonna try insanity i recommend checking it out on youtube before you spend the money to buy it...Insanity is no joke, but it does do what it will see results....and your body will change...but it's up to you...u workout as hard as you can for as long as you can...and IT WORKS!!!

Great progress pictures. I can't wait to do a side view and not have a stomach and smaller thighs. Keep up the excellent job with each phase of the workouts. emoticon
