I had planned a Bob Harper DVD workout this afternoon, but when the sun held on until afternoon, I thought to go for a bike ride instead. Which sounded just great until left work to run some errands before going home. I was tired - physically fatigued, really, from Sunday's 10 miler followed by my RIPPED class yesterday, but I knew I needed to work out. All the way home, I tried to talk myself out of a bike ride - it'll be too chilly (it was 58 - unacceptable excuse!), I didn't feel like leaving the house (hard to ride a bike in the living room!), what if I get a flat tire? (yeah, so what if I DO get a flat tire?) It's amazing how powerfully the mind can try to talk itself out of something...
So I just sucked it up, as usual, and threw on the biking clothes and hit the road. I was right, I DID need that workout. The sun was out, the mountains were peeking out with their lingering snow hats, I saw horses, dogs, butterflies, people. It smelled great (well, except for the horse poop), the sun was warm on my face, my legs were up to the task and it was a great 9-mile ride. I'm glad I quit whining and just did it.
But now I am REALLY fatigued, and my eyes are drooping! We had breakfast dinner - pumpkin apple pancakes and soy sausage for me, and now it's time to pack tomorrow's breakfast & lunch, do the dishes and call it a (successful) day.
Nite nite, Sparkies!
