S.M.A.R.T. Goals

Lose 110 lbs in 24 months (1/1/15), losing 1-2 lbs a week and at least 5 lbs a month.

WHO: Myself, with the help of family, friends and the SP community. The information found on Sparkpeople and the encouragement received from members is needed and much appreciated so please keep coming back and leaving comments.

WHAT: I will lose 110lbs. I will participate in a 5K fun run in April 2013. Other smaller goals listed monthly on my spark page.

WHEN: Full goal by New Years Day of 2015. 10% by my 25th birthday. Smaller monthly goals, see previous blog entry.

HOW: I will eat between 1,400 and 1,700 calories each day; I will exercise for at least 30 minutes 3 days per week and at least 10 minutes the other 4; I will track my food and calories burned each day; I will aim to not purchase items out of my vending machine; drink at least 64 ounces of water per day; and I will aim to pack my lunch all 4 days I work.

I will weigh-in 4 times a month. I will perform a monthly fitness test consisting of push-ups, sit-ups and other exercises to monitor improvement. I will celebrate non-scale victories such as fitting into a new smaller size, having more energy and being able to do something I was either unable or too scared to do because of my weight.
