Gratitude, Days 6, 7, 8...

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Busy yesterday, and somehow I never got around to spending much time on Spark People. Just one of those days that one thing seems to lead into the next and the next, and so on...

I am thankful that -

- despite my lack of Sparking, I did manage to plan my meals and snacks yesterday, and had no trouble sticking with it.

- for the first time since I began Sparking, I deliberately took a walk down both the confectionery and potato chip/corn chip aisle, then through the cake section while I was at the supermarket. Risky, because I've never been able to pass up any of those things, and have avoided the areas containing my old comfort foods. I wanted to prove to myself that it IS possible to see those things and not have to buy them. I stopped and looked at my old favourites, but do you know what - I wasn't even tempted. Instead, each time I saw something I'd have picked up and put in the trolley pre-Spark, I thought 'yuck!'

- a friend arrived this morning, complete with her large, bouncy dog - my big dog's favourite playmate. I made her a coffee, made myself a cup of Caro, we sat and talked for a while, then we took the three dogs for a walk in what looks like the last of the sunshine for today, because the clouds seem to be taking over the sky. It was so good seeing the two bigger dogs chasing each other round, sharing whichever scents they found interesting along the way, and watching my little dog doing all he could to regain my larger dog's complete and undivided attention. He doesn't willingly share 'his dog' with others, lol.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I have to tell you, I can just see those two pooches playing and running. I go for walks with my neighbour sometimes, then we have 6 dogs playing toghether. It is heaven.
Well done on resisting the naughty aisle!
May you be blessed!
