Timeline to the new me

I recently read an article stating that someone trying to lose weight effectively should lay out S.M.A.R.T. goals with detailed times and goals on the road to success. I decided to start this process hoping to get out of this weight loss rut I'm in. So here goes!

Starting Weight: 300.8 lbs 1/1/13
Current Weight: 285.8 lbs 4/16/13 (15 pounds = 5 %)
Ending Weight: 190 lbs 1/1/15

Weigh-ins onTuesday mornings with mid month and end of the month weigh-ins, weekly goal of 1-2 lbs, monthly goal of 5 lbs, total goal time for complete lost is 2 years

4/25/13- GOAL: 284 ACTUAL: 282.8
Results- Lost 1.2 pounds, 18 total emoticon
Notes about the week- Walked the dog and 2 videos this week. Alot of ham sandwiches and breakfast burritos.

End of month weigh-in 4/30/13- GOAL: 281 ACTUAL: 283.6
Results- Gained a pound, did not reach my goal! But I had several NSV's the last 2 weeks.
Notes about the week/month- Cooked several times the final week of month, limited fast food to once or less a week, lots of fruit. I went shopping and was able to get into size 18 capris, although they were tight. I put several outifts in the layway. Started in a 3X shirt (now in 2X), started in 24 pants (now in 20's and 22's). My arms, legs and stomach are smaller. Great progress, although the scale is teetering.

    It is great to have goals, but always make room for plateaus and unplanned events, otherwise we can sometimes get discouraged.

For me, the scale moves faster at times, at other times slower, but if I'm doing the right things and working hard, then I'm doing my best.

I have faith you can do this, but please know that there are other things to celebrate: clothes fitting better, more energy, more strength and endurance, and just feeling better about yourself. All just as important as the scale!

Keep going! You will get there!
