My Aching Bones!

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

I've come a long way since Jan . I have lost 20 pounds, I am able to walk so fast for 45 minutes, that folks at the gym (mostly old guys) comment on how hard I am working as I pass them on the track. But oh my...my feet ACHE!!! When I finish my mileage, come home, fix some food, sit down...I want to cry because my feet hurt so bad! But then, I think about the years of abuse I personally have inflicted in my body. I am hoofing it with enthusiasm and vigor, for 3-5 miles 5 times each week, I am still overweight and my feet cry "NONONO." So, I treat my feet like I treat my soul...be kind, massage those achy parts. Heal & nurture. Make it well. Massage and prayer will heal this body-part. So GRATEFUL!

My autistic step son taught me one valuable lesson in life, "DON'T GIVE UP!" So massage and pray and keep up the awesome work. Love the numbers going in the right ditrection for you ~ congrats. My legs are complaining but they are good complaints! They will look great in shorts when the weather warms up!

Your new spark friend,
Steven

Good for you and sorry about your poor feet. I have a question, are you wearing the right shoes? I have a problem with me feet when I do not wear the right shoes, especially across my arch and I have terrible pain. I am an overpronater and I have a fairly flat foot. I go to a specialty running store to get fitted for my shoes and they are great, if the shoes are not right, they will take them back and give you another pair. So I would suggest you check in the area where you live and see if you have a specialty store and also replace your shoes after 300 miles or so.
Good luck and keep up the great work!

Do you have one of those foot massage foot baths. You put in water and pug them in and your tootsies get some tlc. They are working hard. Also you might need some new shoes. Keep moving. emoticon

I'm so proud of you! I know only too well what it's like to keep going while trying to ignore the aching feet! If the "old guys" at the gym are noticing all your effort other people are too, they're just not commenting. Way to go! emoticon emoticon

What a lovely and moving post - I am right there with you - so much of the pain has been self-inflicted and you are RIGHT also that we NEED to treat ourselves with loving kindness.
