What's with this pedometer ?

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

I bought a new pedometer and for the life of me it doesn't stop resetting?? Is this defective, I ask? Am I putting it in the wrong place(on my waistband) ? How does one get to 10,000 steps when I want to toss it in the trash? Any suggestions my friends? Thank-You in advance because I know you will respond.... emoticon emoticon

I have an Omron HJ112 that can only be reset by pressing a pin in a hole. It automatically resets it's self at midnight. My old one (with a reset button) ended up in the trash. Love this one!!

I had trouble with my pedometer for a while when I carried it at/by my waist OR in my pants pocket. I finally realized that when I sat down, bent at the waist etc. the reset button was getting 'pressed' by my movement. (Think...ever had your cell phone turn on or off while it was in your pocket?) I finally decided to keep mine in my bra. Doesn't sound very nice...sometimes difficult to take out to look at (depending who's around you or where you are) but it works for me! Best wishes! emoticon

emoticon I agree with NHES220. Or maybe there is an 800 Number on the Package/Paperwork?

I think some pedometers are just allergic to us! they just won't work for some people - I'm waiting for my third pedometer to arrive- hopefully it will register all my steps - the last 2 didn't (mind you, they were cheap, really cheap pedometers).

I am not sure. You could try googling the brand you have to see if other people are having issues with that brand.
