Last month, I purchased a FitBit tracker as a way to add accountability to my plan to get in better health. The deal is that I wear it as much as possible 24/7 and it tells me whether I've met my goals for the day or not. No faking. It tells me if I moved enough or not.
My daughter quickly noticed my new device clipped to my shirt and had lots of questions. What she liked most is that it has a little flower that grows or shrinks depending on how active I have been. In the morning, it grows after I workout, and at night as we wind down it shrinks. She likes to count how many leaves it has and she gets excited when it's tall and has lots of leaves.
Her feedback has been surprisingly motivating. Her face just lights up when that display is tall with lots of leaves. And in her 6 year old honesty, she states simply that I need to move my butt when it is small with very few leaves.
