The morning after.

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Last night sleep was elusive. My family was in pain - how could I sleep? But it eventually came, and I woke up to a clear sky filled with sun. And the promise of a community coming out in support, running, gathering together, and remembering that we are stronger than those who hide behind anonymity.

So today I will run. It's not a normal run day, but I need to be out there with the rest of the running community.

My heart is heavy also! As runners, we are family - doesn't matter if we have never met. We all know the feeling of just beginning, struggling through the last mile and joy of crossing the finish line. I will be thinking of them on my next run! I will feel pride and celebrate the ability of being able to run for myself and others.
