Hoop

I am feeling really good about hooping. I am still pretty lame by most standards I think, but I've managed to get to the point I can keep the hoop up and going for 2-3 minutes at a time at least occasionally:) After less than 24 hours. Considering I am a 48 yo short, round person. I'm happy with this.

But more importantly I want to practice. I work from home as a reading tutor. My students all have lessons late afternoon and evening (they are in school all day!) So my mornings and early afternoons are mostly filled with lesson planning, paperwork, ministry work (another hat I wear) or housework. Yesterday I rushed through my to do list just so I could have more time to play with my new hoop.

I have very sedentary hobbies usually. I knit (lots), I read, I putter about online. To wake in the morning excited about doing something active or steal time during the day to sneak in a few extra minutes is unheard of!

Yay for moving our bodies in fun, playful ways!

    Just keep at it, you'll be keeping it up longer in no time! I started in January and it only took me a month to keep it up without struggling. Now I'm venturing into tricks! It's SO much fun!
    Just remember, picking up the hoop burns just as many calories (or more) than keeping it smooth! There's your silver lining!
