Boston . . . and the helpers.

I am nearly speechless, which is quite a feat for me. I am so sad about the incident in Boston. I was very busy yesterday -- 3 doctor appointments & a massage & I have satellite radio in my car, so I didn't hear about it until I got home at 5:00 p.m. What a tragedy!!

What are people thinking? I saw little children who had been injured in some of the photos. There is so much evil in this world, but today, I want to focus on the good. When something like this happens, there isn't a lot most of us can do but pray. Then there are the helpers.

As I went back & looked at the photos, instead of seeing death & destruction the second time, I saw all the people who were helping & comforting others. There were photos of people praying, emergency workers treating the injured, people hugging one another.

Instead of just doing that during a catastrophic event, we should do it every day. There are people all around us who are hurting & we may not even see it. I need to open my eyes & not just "look" at people, I need to "see" them.

You don't even have to do anything big, sometimes just a smile or a kind word is enough.

Today, I challenge you to "see" the people around you. Do something small to make their day better. Be a helper.

Blessings to you!! emoticon emoticon

How many innocent victims will be slaughtered on the altar of the evil before normal people destroy the evil?! Unfortunately it's a matter of political and economic interests about which the ordinary normal people even cannot imagine.
God bless the Helpers.

Keep your eyes, your ears and your hearts open, letting others in. That is the caring part of human nature. Many people go into healthcare for that very reason~~the need to help others in a caring and loving way!! Can we all learn to get along? No where in history has that happened BUT we can continue to try each & everyday!!

I love, love, love this blog. It's a great thing to do every day and especially during a tragedy. It's one of the things I love about my job. My job is all about helping people and sometimes I'm their super hero. But I have been a super hero outside of work too. Listened to the Mom who needs to vent because their child is acting out. Holding the door for someone who's carrying a lot. Helping someone pick up things they dropped. There are lots of small things we can do that means everything to the person they are doing it. I know from experience because I know how it feels when these things are done for me.
