We are Seriously Flawed, and it doesn't matter

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Becasue no one is perfect. We set such high standards for ourselves, then, fall apart when we don't meet them. We are just not perfect, and we're not going to be. And I'm not basing this on any particular religious belief. It just is. And once you accept this, it can be a great relief. Glenn

And I do believe that many who are religious, do not fully comprehend the love of imperfections that make us perfect for friends and family! LOL How is there perfection for the human individual without imperfection? How resentful, and problems identifying with perfection, yet trying to attain it , without accepting the perfection of imperfection...what is it they perceive as 'perfect'. I believe it is the attitude of perception and perspective. Have a gloriously beautiful day....

Totally agree. Being a long-time FlyBaby I've been "flywashed" with FlyLady's reminders that "progress, not perfection" is what's important, and perfectionism is corrosive, toxic, and even worse, counter-productive.

I apply her philosophy to nearly every corner of my life, including how I raise my kids. I can't change their behaviors or their characters with a wave of a wand, but I can influence them for the better a tiny littlle action at a time.
