In honor of Boston

Monday, April 15, 2013

Tonight the store where I buy my running/walking gear dedicated the normal Monday night group run/walk to the participants in the Boston Marathon today. There were about 15 of us who went out and ran to show solidarity with the community of athletes who get out there and try. I couldn't do a thing for the city of Boston, the injured, the grieving and the frightened from where I am. But I could get out there and be a runner to honor the spirit of everyone who participated in that marathon.

If you get a chance, get outside and do whatever you do - run. jog, racewalk, walk, wheel - whatever it is, do it. Honor those who were trying to do their best in a really amazing race by doing your best in whatever you do.

I continue to pray for those grieving, injured and frightened.

We never know what a day will bring. I too am praying for all that have been effected by this tragic event.
