Wowee, I had a great day. Firstly, it was gorgeous here, breezy, partly cloudy, but still rays of sun. Downright lovely. The major highlight was finding Cache Creek Conservancy, a large conservation park along Cache Creek, and surrounding wetlands. It was a dream come true. I've been complaining for years that I have nowhere local to walk around without cars, and people and concrete........well, all this time, I did have it, right in my own backyard, I just didn't know it. The things you don't know, when you weren't raised in the area you live in! So, I found it, going off the vague descriptions from a client from a week or so ago. It was a little tough to find, it is quite a hidden gem. It was truly wonderful out there. I saw a lot of wildlife, including three young deer, and a turkey. I didn't realize the creek ran so close to town. The park is maybe five miles from town, I could walk there if I was so inclined.

Stairway to heaven
I got about 40 min hike out there before I started to feel really thirsty. I will go back next week, I'm sure. It is too close, and too pristine not to walk there. I think it will be yet another weekly exercise spot, along with my local park walk and water aerobics. This spring is turning out to be the ultimate in motivating local exercise options. My boss also invited me today to start our Monday mornings off at the gym. Monday is our day off, and I can go with her to her gym for a small fee. She goes at 8:30 every Monday morning, so I am going to start doing that too. I think Monday morning gym, then out to the nature preserve for an hour or so hike will be the best way to start my week for awhile now. I have no reason not to do this, and every reason to do it!!! I especially like that there is a really nice sauna at the gym. I love to sweat!!!!
I really needed this weekend. I was feeling down and out this week, but the hike today really healed my aches and pains. I'm feeling alive and rejuvenated. Hope all is well in your lives. Cheers!
