Look For The Helpers

Monday, April 15, 2013

I saw a quote by Mister Rogers posted on Facebook today. I haven't verified he actually said this but I thought it was a nice thing to remember on sad-news days like today...

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.”

Hugs to all!

I saw it too. The first responders in an attack like that are among today's true heros, selflessly working to protect and save others. Without their fast response and care, the tragedy could have been worse.

Let all the "good" people in the world stand up and never let evil win

I saw it on Facebook as well, and posted it to my blog. I think it is a wonderful thought for parents of young children to use to comfort their children. There is so much ugliness in the world. I was so upset to hear that one of the two dead was an 8-year-old. I hope it's not true. I think there is a special place in hell for people who hurt children.
