Juice, juice, juice!

I recently bought one of those juice bullets from TV, but the packaging was too much for me to undo alone, so I've had it for weeks, and today I finally got help to get into the box and get to the machine itself and set it up! I've been wanting to juice and make smoothies for quite some time and today seemed to be the great day. I recently watched a great documentary called FAT, SICK AND NEARLY DEAD, about a man who had a disease that gave him rashes, as well as being obese and otherwise not well. He had a portable juicer and took it everywhere and juiced everything. He lost a ton of weight and got very healthy while doing his juice fast. He went on to help others follow his plan and everyone seemed to feel so much better. It was very encouraging!
So today I filled the juicer canister with kale, fresh pineapple chunks, a green apple, and some ground flax seed. I couldn't get the machine going so I had to call the company for help and then wait about two hours for a call back. Once the problem was overcome, I turned on the machine and in about 30 seconds I had this pretty green textured thick fluid that kind of scared me at first! I went ahead and tasted it, not knowing what to expect, considering the 2 cups of raw kale involved, but it wasn't too bad at all, not even bitter. I made a decision, however, to sweeten it up just a bit with an envelope of Splenda. I know the purists would say that I went and ruined everything, but I'm the one who needs to drink it, so I've gotta do what I've gotta do! For now, I think one big mug a day will be enough, but then, who knows?

    Its really great that you now know how to use the juicer, and you have an idea of how to use the juices to help you lose weight. But remember a fast can only go on so long. Your body needs nutrients like fiber and protein and even some fats to function properly. Also you are not stuck to just one type of juice. If the kale isn't working for you you can try other juices as well. Using a bit more fruit to sweeten the juice is probably healthier than the Splenda. Did your juicer come with a recipe book? If not their may be some online or on the site you bought the juicer from. Have fun with it and good luck with your dietary change.

    Good on you for taking charge of your health. It is good to get the fibre in and not just the juice. Over time cut down on the Splenda because you will get used to the taste quite quickly.
