First Day

Hello. Today's my first day on the site. I used to be on here a long time ago, but never really did much with it.
I'm setting personal goals for myself and trying to become healthier.
Since i work online, I tend to sit at my computer for most of the day and not really pay too much attention to what I eat or exercise. I don't eat much, but that can also be bad for your metabolism since I skip meals often. I eat very healthy foods normally, but can often go a little crazy when I go out to eat. I'm planning a trip this summer and I want to feel confident since I'm going to be in a swimsuit. I'm afraid I might not be able to reach my summer goal, but I'm going to try as hard as I possibly can.

    Hi Teacupika :) - Welcome! My job is all online too, so I know exactly what you're talking about. I've been on Spark People for about 4 months, and what they say is really true - this is about a lifestyle change, not a diet. I would highly :) recommend you working with the Spark Coach folks, really really helpful. And lets see, oh yeah LOL don't worry about what the scale says. Start tracking your food, start getting some exercise, and start drinking some water. Slow is better, really!

And when you have a not so great day (or week) try to do just 1 thing that you know is good for you, part of the You that you're heading towards. It could be as simple as drink a glass of water, or do a little stretching, or read a motivational story. One good decision leads to the next - this I've found out!!

    Dr. Seuss said there is no trying. Do or don't. "trying" is giving one permission to fail. Don't do that to yourself. You can do it. Work your plan.
