Winter, go home, you're drunk!

It's APRIL 15th and we woke up to this-

April! 15th! Arg! And the forecast calls for three days of snow. ARG. I usually weather winter pretty well but this year it didn't start until March, just when I want Spring. The good news is (yes, I found some) this will make the grass greener when and if we get to see it again. Ha ha.
I hope my wee seedlings in the garden make it. Maybe I should have covered them?

In other news, my son from Alaska is visiting (and left behind better weather) and it has been very good to get to see and talk to him again. I need to stop going over my calorie range on the weekends. And drinking on the weekends. That's kind of crept back into our weekend nights and I need to shut it down again. Too many calories and then I also tend to eat a lot more and have no will power, duh. The last three weekends, same thing, have a drink, end up having three drinks and a lot of food. Puts me right back where I was weight wise and then I have to really step it up during the week to catch back up and lose any more. Am not sure how I've even had any success the last several weeks but I have. I still may not make it to my 5% goal this Saturday though and the culprit? Alcohol! When am I ever going to be done with that? That is my point of weakness folks, that's the thing I just really need to walk away from for good. Too bad I think it's so much fun, eh? Something to work on....
Hope everyone has a great last week of the challenge. Let's shed what we can for the team!
I think I'm going to do every DVD I can find.....

    I let bad habits creep in too! In my case it's extra cereal at breakfast time and the odd scone during the day. It's just so easy to let it happen and so difficult to recover lost ground! I won't make my 5% goal either. :(

    im over complaining about the cold, its 80 one day and 40 the next
but, no snow, right now, no snow
eastern ky is finally seeing spring, and that includes wind and rain emoticon

    Wow. I'm glad I don't live where there's that much snow!! I do not weather winter well. I need light and warm weather for my mental health. Seriously! So I'm thankful we've had warm temps and the early spring flowers are blooming.

Sorry for your back and forths. I know that's so frustrating. But usually we just have to get really, really fed up with things before a change is worth it to us. I hope you've gotten fed up enough to see change! If not...get mad (not at yourself but the alcohol) and put what's best for you first!

    Snowing here as well,well over 12 inches so far.Big fluffy flakes happening now.I did get some good cardio in shoveling 5 times in 3 days,I keep telling myself there is some good with it also. Who am I to say any different. A lot more is expected. Just one of those days,I mean weeks.

It'll stop eventually?WON"T IT??? emoticon

Do the best you can under the conditions.
It'll all come together,you'll see.

    I'm right there with you on the winter thing! They're predicting a couple feet of snow on my side of the mountain. I've been in the yard telling my daffodils "NO! Don't do it!". I don't think they listened.....

    I thought the same thing about the %^&*ing snow falling here this morning! AAGH!

I'm ready for sunshine and green things and the snow just keeps rolling through.


I know what you mean about drinking~ I try to carefully budget for a glass of wine or two, and sometimes I go over with it and sometimes the calories just aren't worth it. For me, the larger struggle has been having my mom around. She's lost 35 lbs since October so I'm not sure how she can be such a trigger for me to pig out on JUNK! She was here again this weekend, after a week of eating struggles due to not enough sleep and emotional eating, and I'm not sure I'll make my 5% either. She's my best friend, but man would I be a blimp if we were together all the time!

    So nice that you've had your son visiting.

I go overboard on the weekends as well (foodwise - I've never like the taste of alcohol) - so it's always a catch up game for me.

I won't even come close to the 5%, but I've lost about 5 pounds which I'm very happy with.

    I know what you are saying about weekends. Sounds familiar. We had snow all winter now we have non stop rain. Ugh!
