First, a weekend recap:
Took 3 classes on Saturday (Active, which was step-ish, Core and Power (which are both weights classes). Felt great, though the knee is a bit sore - Active probably wasn't the best decision there. Food-wise my day was okay. A little light, because I just wasn't in the mood for anything I had available.
Sunday I went into the city and cheered on some friends running the BAA 5K in the morning. Then I walked/ran a 5K with a friend in the afternoon. Food was mostly okay, though there were a few grains in my lunchtime meal (falafel wrap, well worth it!) Knee hurt a good deal last night, so I spent a lot of time massaging, stretching, etc.
Today is the Boston Marathon. This day always makes me sad that I'm not either 1 - in the city watching (because I'm working) or 2 - running it. Someday I will do both. I need a good year of my knees being healthy before I run it, though. And that involves me continuing to build strength in my legs and core.
Today's food: hemp bread with cranberry pepper jelly for breakfast (no sugar added) with coffee. Lunch is a salad I made from a mish mash of left overs. Dinner? Who knows. I also have some Paleostix for a snack if I need them.
Today is one of those days where I just know I'm on the right path. I feel phenomenal, I feel fit, I feel strong. I don't feel like I'm on a "diet" or doing "workouts". I'm training for the things I love, and I'm living a great life. That's really when this all pays off. Three years ago just walking around the city yesterday would have worn me out. Yet yesterday I did that, then the 5k, then went home and did a bunch of things around the house all without feeling muscle-weary at all (I was exhausted, but that was lack of sleep not the moving).
Anyway, the countdown continues!
