5K in City of Bonham + 5K in Bonham State Park

Sunday, April 14, 2013

There were two events on Saturday amd I wanted to do them both. Didn't have time to do two 10Ks, so we settled for a 5K at each location. Bonham is the hometown of Sam Rayborn (17 years as Speaker of the House). There is a very nice library and museum but it wasn't open when we where there.

Nearby is the Replica of Fort Inglish which is what Bonham was originally called.

There were many nice homes but I liked this one the best.

When we finished the 5K in the City we headed out to the State Park to walk.
Part of the walk was in the woods.

Park was on Park Roads when we crossed the dam.

And there was a short stretch of just grassland.

We had a great day with a lot of variety in what we saw.

I really enjoyed this blog! Thanks so much for sharing. I have never been to Bonham so didn't know that it was first of all, a Fort! Wow, that is some fabulous house that you took the photo of! How many rooms do you suppose were in it? I wonder if they give tours of it?

Congratulations on the 5K walks! Beautiful scenery, huh? emoticon emoticon
