An eye opening survey...

Sunday, April 14, 2013

I took this survey online and scored a 69. Anything above a 36 means you are overburdened as a caregiver.

I am fortunate though to have help with mom as my neighbors who is also mom's cousin and his wife are right across the street and have helped us out a lot.

Mom got a call from her sister this morning...she is coming to ohio in 2 weeks (the weekend of my brother's birthday) for a visit.

We are B-R-O-K-E. And I am NOT in the mood to hear about how bad life is for my uncle. He is laid off and is going crazy because of it.

He is a workaholic and goes crazy if he is off work for a day.

Me, I relish the fact that I am able to be off work and be with mom for an extended period.

Now, are there resources for caregivers through places like the Cancer Society that I can get?.

I would check at the library and maybe check the newspaper to see if there are groups that meet weekly or monthly. Also, check with your local college. Just a thought!
