"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, NOT GIVING UP MEETING TOGETHER [emphasis mine], as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
That doesn't mean you have to go to every service your church has, or feel condemned if you miss a week of attendance. For myself, since I rise so early on weekdays, I'm usually not inclined to go out again in the evening, much as I'd love to participate in the Tuesday prayer meetings and Wednesday Bible studies. But I maintain connection with other believers - I meet vicariously as I write letters of encouragement, and my DD is also a believer. Then there are the Christian message boards where we comfort and exhort each other in the love of Christ on this journey to a healthy lifestyle.
But Friday night I took my student friend to the youth service. And my granddaughter wanted to go to my previous church again. Well, they changed location, and also the time of their service. So Saturday evening I took my DD and the 2 grands to the service. Of course, I feel quite at home, and it was nice to see that part of the family of God in Christ! And this afternoon, I'm going to my new home church, the bilingual Assembly of God which I joined for when Levi eventually makes it here.
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! (Psalm 133:1)
And how beautiful is the Body of Christ!
