Back to Basics

Took a small hiatus from Spark to go to and see what it offered. I've been interested in gaining some lean muscle and toning up, even started a great program; however, the food/caloric/protein needs in order to properly nourish my body were beyond what my meager food budget will allow.

Tra and I found we were hungry ALL THE TIME and there just was never enough food in the house to satiate us. So we've made the executive decision to lose weight the smart and simple way, through a deficit in our calories and a combination of cardio and strength training. Back to the basics. Hopefully in a few months when things are more settled financially, we will give bodybuilding another try.

We found a great gym; Fit4Less over on Merivale Rd. We love it! The staff are amazing, the benefits of being a member are great and there are no lunks - we've made ourselves quite comfortable with the barbells and weight training section; sometimes moving around the same weight as "the boys" - feels pretty powerful to me!!

anyways, on the flip side.. life is doing well. I've had Cymbalta added to my cocktail of meds; I'm finding I still struggle with anxiety so when I see my DR next I'll mention that to him... Sort of feels like a constant give and take between my depression and my anxiety. I hope to find balance soon.
