Now that the spring is finally here I feel like I'm out of my slump and ready to start focusing on weight loss again. Like I've said before, I made a decision to maintain my weight for a while because I was not feeling inspired or motivated to lose weight and I was feeling happy where I was at the moment. But now, I really want to commit to weight loss again. Summer is on its way and it will be so much easier to exercise outside again and I'm definitely going to take advantage of that! This week I have been working out every day and there is nothing like a brisk morning walk to start your day!
I've been thinking of my goals a lot this week. I am now at 158 lbs like I have been for a few months. I want to get down to 130 lbs and I figured it would be a realistic for me to try and reach that goal by the end of the year. That gives me eight and a half months to lose 38 pounds. I think that's doable, don't you? For the first three months my goal is to lose 4 pounds a month, and then for the last five months I'm only aiming for a 2-pound loss per month. It always gets more difficult to lose weight when you're getting smaller so I think it's only realistic for me not to expect huge losses at that point. Besides, like I've always said, I'm not in a rush. I'd rather lose this weight extremely slowly than lose it in a couple of months and struggle to keep it off. I've now lost 32 pounds since February 2011 and even though it has taken me very long to get here, I've had no problem maintaining my new weight, and I think it's because I really took my time getting to this point.
But like I said, I'm now ready to move on to new challenges. I'm going to keep doing what I did when I lost all that weight before: track my meals and workouts, practice moderation in all things, work out as planned (cardio six days a week, ST five times a week for 20 minutes) and update my blog more regularly. I know I can't do this without your support! So I'm hoping you'll help me get this weight loss started again and reach my next goals! :)
Next goal: 154 lbs by the end of the month! (I will only weigh myself once a month. Last weigh in was 158 lbs). Here we go! I know I can do it! :)
