She's rubbish, you know

This female human we live with. She forgot to start spring this year so we went back into hibernation. She's also useless at remembering to feed us. Just how difficult is it to open a can of Whiskas when asked, hm? No we can't do it ourselves, we haven't got the thumbs. If mice had ringpulls, we'd have evolved with thumbs. Natural selection. As it is, we've trained humans instead.

Her behaviour wants some attention. The week before last, she didn't come in till 11.30 in the evening. Not a word about where she'd been, either. Last summer and again early this year, there was a succession of men making loud noises in her bedroom with their tools. Yes, really. Disgraceful. When we moved in, we're pretty certain she signed a contract saying it was just her and us.

Honestly, it won't do.

Thirteen years we've been putting up with this and she is getting worse not better. It's important to us to mark our territory outdoors. Whose garden is it? Exactly. Stop complaining about the smell, even if it is on your washing.

She's got thinner, recently. Not nearly as comfortable to sit on. We thought we'd soften her up by drooling a bit but she only gets ratty (cat pun). She spends hours on that laptop that she should be spending with us. Once we work out where the 'on' switch is, it's history.

Just watch us.

PS: she wishes us to add that she had damp in the bedroom last year and a malfunctioning boiler in February and these required investigation and remedial work.

Really, humans are pretty hopeless! It's a wonder cats put up with them at all.

She looks a little like my Bug. He wrote like her, too.
Good thing you had her add the postscript or the mice would still be tittering about the men...

    LOL - I love it!

The pic looks like our sweet Cleo playing a game we dubbed Tiger in the Jungle. Except she'd crouch behind the potted plants on the deck, and twitch her tail, ready to spring on an unsuspecting lizard or something. (I do miss that little cat!)

Lol, sounds like what my cats would have said before they passed. The oldest was a total prima donna and the middle cat felt liek anywhere was where she was supposed to lay down (even if that meant laying down on the book you were reading) Cats completely belive that they own us humans not the other way around. I guess we humans just have to deal with it. Such a cute blog. I enjoyed reading it.

Dear Kitties, If your human continues on this despicable path, please feel free to hop a boat or plane and come live with me. You can help train the dog to accept other animals. You know, tag-team style. emoticon rule!

    Dear Chicchantal's furry companions,
I feel your pain! I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time. Humans do forget and need to be retrained from time to time. My human actually expects ME to move when she wants to sit at the desk. Can you imagine? And she has really been remiss in putting out catnip regularly.
Sometimes I think that THEY believe THEY are the ones in charge! Definitely time to straighten them out about that one right away.
We do have to put up with them but we do expect better service from them than they've provided from time to time. Here's hoping you are able to get her to understand where she has been falling down and to improve her attentions to you.
P.S. Can you believe they actually call me "Maggie Magpie" sometimes? I of course completely ignore them when they do. I prefer to be addressed as "your royal highness" myself.

Thanks for the laugh! You're going to get a lot of comments about men and their tools, though. I love cats, but my mom has always maintained that she wouldn't have one unless it made her morning tea for her.

Yes Kit-Cats, humans can be quite irritatingly untrainable, That is just why we must persist in putting forth our wants and kneads. Between lumpy laps and not sitting still, what are our worlds coming to .... If you have any hints on more or better training tips forward them to Audra.
Thank you, Shamu (I am a whale of a black and white Orca type girl). As dictated to my human by her cat.

Love the cat point of view! One wonders, though, about the succession of men and their tools in your bedroom. If you use "tool" in the same slang sense that we across the pond do, you'll understand why!
